The Ali-Bata story
2013 - Angela dela Cruz migrated to Sydney from the Philippines
2017 - Inspired by the different university societies, Angela started the Sydney Filipino society to promote the Filipino culture at the University of Sydney. The humble club became a home for Filipinos temporarily in Sydney for their studies, and an opportunity for Filipinos who grew up in Australia to reconnect with their roots.
2018 - After graduating and finishing up as president, Angela looked for other ways to promote the Filipino culture. With three nieces and two nephews who had limited access to great Filipino resources, the idea for Ali-Bata was born.

Baybayin, colloquially referred to as alibata, is the indigenous script of the Tagalog people.
Bata is the Filipino world for 'child'.
Ali-Bata's focus is to share the Filipino languad culture with children, with the hopes that they would do the same with their children too.
